Donald Trump Jr. called it “pathetic” when he learned that the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) broadcast Home Alone 2 without a scene featuring his father.
Donald Trump made a cameo in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, walking up to Macaulay Culkin, who played Kevin McCallister in the Home Alone films. The scene is brief, as Trump gives the boy directions to the lobby of the Plaza Hotel. (see the video below)
Trump Jr. tweeted that cutting the cameo was “pathetic.”

Over at Fox & Friends, they criticized the cut as censorship, but the CBC maintains the scene was “one of several that were cut from the movie” to make room for commercials. Further, they say the cuts were made in 2014, long before Trump became President.
So if Trump supporters see the cut as “left-wing media bias,” then that bias against Trump took place long before he set foot in the White House.
CBC responds to criticism that short scene featuring Donald Trump was deleted from movie Home Alone 2, which aired recently. Spokesperson says 'several' cuts made for time. 'These edits were done in 2014 when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected president.'

It doesn’t seem to matter to the Trumps or their supporters when the cut was made. On December 26, the President seized the moment to take a swipe at the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, which he shortened to “Justin T.”
I guess Justin T doesn’t much like my making him pay up on NATO or Trade! https://t.co/sndS7YvIGR

The movie will never be the same! (just kidding) https://t.co/FogquK1ei7

Fox News covered the story by noting that “sharp viewers blasted the state-owned broadcaster.” Then the outlet shared the viewer’s tweets, such as the one below which called Trudeau “two-faced,” echoing Trump’s prior insults.
“Sharp viewers blasted the state-owned broadcaster earlier Thursday after noticing Trump’s scene was missing from the 1992 sequel, which aired earlier in the month,” wrote Jack Durschlag.
Canadian government funded TV channel is so triggered that they cut the .@realDonaldTrump
Cameo from Home Alone 2 while airing it over Christmas. I bet "two faced" Trudeau made the call directly to the .@CBC and demanded they cut the scene.. Or maybe just black it out#DefundCBC— Steven (@Texas4Trump2020) December 26, 2019
Notably, the article didn’t mention when the cuts were made, according to the CBC.
Of course, Twitter is not Fox News and so Trump Jr. got plenty of criticism. A few of the standouts appear below:
not that it matters, but Justin T was not prime minister of Canada in 2014 when the scene was cut https://t.co/dPG0DcO1VN

They edited out a cameo from a guy who turned out to be a vile, predatory, racist, criminal despot. Makes sense.
They’re not “under fire,” you’re having a hissy fit because your daddy’s a creep and decent people want no part of him. 🤣

They did your dad a favor cutting the scene but I’m sorry you’re so #Triggered

I realize that it must suck to face the facts that entire countries hate your family, without being able to spin it. Canadians are famous for being polite.
If you read between the lines, I think that Canada is just fatigued with the extremely rude #IMPOTUS.

Almost as pathetic as you killing innocent endangered animals for sport or you getting the RNC to buy your stupid, dim-witted book to make it look like you have a best-seller, you lying, elitist, obnoxious, prick.
— John Melendez (@stutteringjohnm) December 26, 2019
I’m guessing you are either too dumb or lazy to check to see if that is the television edit prior to 2016
